About the Artist

Hi. I'm B. I am an artist.
I was born and raised just off the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, Maryland as the sixth of seven children. This is where my career as an artist began. Struggling with my self-perception, I lacked confidence and strength of self. My family had always provided a creative space in my home, where imaginations were allowed to run wild, but I had never identified myself as an artist. In seventh grade I took my first true visual arts class. With the guidance of a compassionate middle school teacher, I found myself in a youth Gifted and Talented Arts program that would change me forever.
Under the tutelage of a renowned American Artist, Michael Bell, I discovered the capacity of art to challenge the status quo, reflect on interpersonal conflicts, self-heal, and eventually, to teach me self-love.
Art is my passion.
B Stud Art is my means to share my passion with you. B Stud Art originated on the floor of my dorm room in the fall of 2013 when I had just begun my career at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. I never imagined that my paintings would bring me here, living and working in Atlanta with a network of incredible artists, thinkers, poets, and friends. I have since graduated from Emory with a dual degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (concentration in Visual Culture) and a Visual Arts Co-Major (concentration in Art History). I am now pursuing a career in marketing, with the hopes of developing my passion for my artwork into a career as a visual artist.
